Gloriavale school closure welcomed

NCWNZ is enormously pleased to learn that the secretary for education has acknowledged the lack of safety, unsound conditions, and poor education standards at Gloriavale Christian School, and that she has subsequently cancelled the school's registration as a private school.

Anti-stalking law petition

Advocates watching to ensure new anti-stalking law is “more than just paper.” After a three-year campaign, violence-prevention advocates today welcomed stalking criminalisation, and also vowed to stay vigilant to ensure state agencies use the law as intended. 

Definitions Bill Statement

Definitions Bill will not advance the rights, opportunities or wellbeing of NZ women. The National Council of Women of New Zealand (NCWNZ) supports the statement by the Honorable Nicola Grigg, Minister for Women, when she said, "I'm not convinced that this bill will advance the rights and opportunities or the wellbeing of women and girls in any way, shape, or form in New Zealand.”
