Applications are invited for a board member for the period of up to three years.
Do you believe in a Gender Equal New Zealand? If so, this is an exciting opportunity to join the board of New Zealand’s iconic gender equality organisation founded by Kate Sheppard – the National Council of Women New Zealand Te Kaunihera Wāhine o Aotearoa.
We’re in the midst of re-positioning ourselves to finish the job Kate started, and you could be a part of shaping our new movement.
Candidates for the Board position will need to have previous governance experience, be a committed NCWNZ member with a minimum of two years’ experience in our organisation, have the time to commit, plenty of resilience and can prioritise self-care.
We are looking for people who can contribute to the Board in one or more of these areas:
- Accountancy and financial management, at chartered accountant or similar skill level
- Fundraising, sponsorships and revenue diversification
- Tangata whenua perspectives
We want to continue to diversify our Board to reflect the diverse nature of our population. Applicants who can represent wāhine Māori will be favourably considered.
Our current pro bono board meets monthly via zoom and the commitment from each board member averages around 8 hours per week.
The Board member will be elected at our AGM at the end of September 2022.
