The National Council of Women of New Zealand

The NCWNZ Board of Management provides the governance for the organisation. The Board is empowered to administer the business and implement the policy of the Council within the limits of the Constitution.
The Board of Management consists of seven women elected by the National Conference, who meet five times a year.

Elizabeth has been a member of NCWNZ since the early 80s, starting as a member of the Dunedin Branch and going on to become Branch President. After moving to Hamilton, she joined the local branch and became Health Standing Committee Convener.
Elizabeth works at Hospice Waikato as Chief Executive and has previously worked within the health sector, in various nursing and management roles.
Prior to becoming National President in 2008, Elizabeth was 1st Vice-President for two terms. Since becoming National President, Elizabeth has attended the ICW Conference in Johannesburg in 2009, where NCWNZ's resolution on the sexualisation of children was passed unanimously.

Barbara has been a member of the NCWNZ Manawatu Branch since 1992, representing the PPTA. She was the Convener of the Environment Standing Committee from 1998 to 2004, before becoming a board member. In 2008 she was elected 1st Vice President.
Barbara has attended the ICW General Assembly in Perth in 2003, Kiev in 2006 and Johannesburg in 2009.
Barbara has been a secondary school teacher, an educator in Ag Research and is now the Science Educator for Te Manawa Museums Trust in Palmerston North.

Christina has been a member of NCWNZ Hamilton Branch since 1995. She became a member of the Family Affairs Standing Committee in 1996 and held the post of Convener from 1999 to 2004. She was a Board member from 2004-2008, and then Convener of the Justice and Law Reform Standing Committee from 2009 - 2010. In 2010, she rejoined the Board and was elected 2nd Vice President.
Christina works as a Director for Mahitahi Catholic Overseas Volunteers and has previously worked various roles in the education sector. She has a Master's in Education and is a qualified teacher. She is also spokesperson for Parents As Partners, a lobby group for the recognition of partnered at-home parents.

Correen‘s involvement with NCWNZ began in 1996 when she became a representative for New Zealand Federation of Graduate Women (NZFGW). In 1998 she was elected to the NCWNZ Dunedin Branch Executive, where she served as Vice President, Treasurer, Minute Secretary, and President from 2003 to 2006.
In 2006 Correen was elected as National Treasurer, a position she is well qualified for after 19 years as the Bursar / Chartered Accountant at Kavanagh College, a year 7 to year 13 State integrated co-ed school in Dunedin. She has now retired from that role and holds the position of Board Secretary for the Board of Trustees.

Colleen has been a member of NCWNZ since 1992 and has been a Wellington Branch Executive Member and President, a member of the Parliamentary Watch Committee and a Board Member since 2008.
Colleen is also a member of Rotary Club of Wellington, New Zealand Federation of Graduate Women, Rural Women New Zealand, NZ Academy of Fine Arts and Commonwealth Trust.

Frances joined the Papakura Franklin Branch in 2001 as the representative of Graduate Women of New Zealand. She was Convener of the Education Standing Committee from 2002 until she became a Board Member in 2008.
Frances has a PhD in Educational Management and Leadership. She was a secondary school teacher and Head of Department, a Principal Lecturer at Auckland College of Education and the Director of the School of Advanced Studies at Auckland College of Education. She tutored in Distance Education at Christchurch School of Education.

Shirley has been a member of NCWNZ Hutt Valley Branch since 1988 and has served on the Branch Committee and been both President and Vice President of the Branch. She was elected as a Board Member in 2009.
She is the National President of the Council of Jewish Women of New Zealand and in an active participant in community councils around the Hutt Valley, including as Chairman of Hutt City Council of Social Services and the Women‘s Advisory Committee at Hutt Valley Polytechnic. She is Vice President of the Hutt City Workers Education Association and a Life Member of the Hutt City Multiciltural Council.
Shirley has a Queen's Service Order and a Civic Award from Hutt City Council. She was awarded NZ Jewish Woman of the Year in 1995.
She is the Director of Waterloo Pharmacy in Lower Hutt and previously worked for AMP.
