The National Council of Women of New Zealand
Te Kaunihera Wahine o Aotearoa
Resolutions are adopted by NCWNZ at national meetings and go on to form the policies for the work of the Council. Many are surprised by the immense variety of topics on which the Council has policy, and the extent of that policy.
Resolutions reflect the concerns and interests of the women who are members of the National Council of Women of New Zealand. the members, affiliated to nationally organised societies and local societies, are represented at branches of NCWNZ in many locations throughout the country. These women discuss and debate issues of current concern, and bring topics to the national meetings for consideration as policy. Any statements and submissions made by the Council or its representatives are based on the policies that have been agreed by the majority of its members, and in accordance with the resolutions.
NCWNZ now has available electronically the volume of resolutions printed in 2002, 107 Years of Resolution, which contains resolutions, approximately 1700, adopted at NCWNZ national meetings from 1896 to 2002, as recorded in the Minutes of those meetings.
Also available is a register of the resolutions passed since 2003.
