December 2009 - Correspondence Update

The National Council of Women of New Zealand (NCWNZ) has received a response to the letter sent to Hon Nick Smith, ACC Minister. Read the response.

On the 14th of December, NCWNZ sent a complaint to the Health and Disability Commissioner regarding the breach of the HDC Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights, submitted on behalf of Maori Women. Read the letter to HDC.

On the same day, NCWNZ also sent a request to the Prime Minister to implement Temporary Special Measures, as mandated under articles 2 and 4 of the Convention for the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). Read the letter regarding CEDAW.
